I'm not saying I recommend that you and your family come to BeLive's Punta Cana resort, but I'm also not saying you should not.
We arrived at the airport at 3:00 am for our 6:00 am flight (my friends were very happy with me for making us leave so early and have to wait 2:30 hours for our flight). Spirit may have a bad rep, but they didn't do us dirty this time. We had a layover in Fort Lauderdale, and then got on our second flight which essentially felt like the bus ride to the fraternity formal. I'm not complaining though. Tequila sunrises and gossiping with my friend who sat next to me; I was a happy girl.
What did I do for the week we were there?
Answer: I could not tell you.
Everyday flew by, and essentially went like this:
- Wake-up at 8am & debrief
about the night before
- Get breakfast from the buffet
which consisted of croissants,
scrambled eggs, and fruit
- Sit by the pool and swim
- Get a Piña-colada
- Eat lunch at the burger/ hot
dog restaurants where I'd eat
the nachos
- Go to the beach and swim for
5 hours
- Everyone meets on the beach for sunset, chill, and play hacky sack
- Shower and eat dinner
- Go to the beach bar
I did not want to leave Punta Cana. The beaches were beautiful and the drinks were free, so needless to say I felt very zen. One day, my friend group and I rented a boat and went snorkeling and for a boat ride which will probably go down as one of my favorite days ever.
The resort itself was not a place I'd recommend my mom and her friends to go to, but it was clean, the food was pretty good, and it was safe. Did I mention it was also less than $100/night for an all-inclusive hotel right on the beach? Because it was.
